It is a direct hair transplantation performed with an implanter pen and is also known as the Choi pen technique and unshaved hair transplantation.
Although it is essentially based on the FUE technique, DHI hair transplantation is considered a partially new hair transplant technique. The biggest difference with FUE is that hair transplantation with the DHI technique does not require a canal to be opened before the hair follicles are transplanted. In hair transplants using the DHI hair transplant technique, grafts from the donor area are transplanted directly into the recipient area.

Hair transplantation with the DHI hair transplant technique can be performed under local anaesthesia, with or without shaving. The hair follicles taken from the donor area are transplanted directly into the recipient area using a Dhi pen.

The follicle unit taken from the donor area is inserted into the Choi needle. The hair follicles of the appropriate thickness, inserted into needles of different diameters at an angle of 40-45 degrees, are transplanted one by one into the area to be coiffed according to the previously prepared plan. While pressing on the hair follicle, the Choi needle simultaneously inserts it into the channel it opens in the scalp.

In DHI hair transplantation, at least 2 Choi pins and an average of 10-12 different Choi tips are used. The tips and pins with different diameters are individually selected before the procedure according to the thickness of the hair strand.

Post Treatment
